NeoGoat Local Tournament Report - April 21th, 2026

Seventeen players gathered for this week’s NeoGoat local. Rounds 1 and 5 were not recorded, but the matches we do have show a format defined by precise sequencing, graveyard control, and explosive swing turns.


Round 2 — Chaos Recruit (A) vs Water Plant (B)



Duel 1 — Backrow removed before it matters

A opens with Shining Angel and sets one backrow.
B sets a spell/trap and passes.

On the End Phase, A activates Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying Torrential Tribute before it can ever be used.

Next turn:

  • A summons Mystic Tomato
  • Attacks directly 

B tries to stabilize:

  • Summons Lord Poison
  • Sets two backrow

A answers immediately:

  • Activates Heavy Storm

Chain:

  • B uses Raigeki Break, discarding Magic Planter, destroying Mystic Tomato
  • All remaining backrow is still destroyed by Heavy Storm

A continues:

  • Summons Tribe-Infecting Virus
  • Declares Plant
  • Destroys Lord Poison

With no monsters and no backrow remaining:

Duel 2 — Water engine takes over

B opens with Mother Grizzly and sets one backrow.
A summons Shining Angel and sets two.

On the End Phase:

  • B activates Ring of Destruction on Shining Angel
  • Angel is destroyed before it can generate value

B’s turn:

  • Activates Pot of Greed → draws 2
  • Attacks with Mother Grizzly

A summons Newdoria and attacks into Grizzly:

  • Newdoria is destroyed
  • Its effect destroys Grizzly

B continues attacking with new Grizzly.

The key turn:

  • B activates Giant Trunade, returning all backrow to hand
  • A chains Mystical Space Typhoon, hitting Shrink

B summons another monster and goes to battle:

With no defenses left, B attacks freely and wins the duel


Duel 3 — Anubis shuts everything down

A opens:

  • Summons Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
  • Sets backrow

B responds:

  • Summons Lonefire Blossom
  • Uses its effect → brings Sylvan Hermitree
  • Hermitree attacks and destroys Kycoo

On the End Phase:

  • A activates Royal Decree

Now traps are disabled.

A’s turn:

  • Activates Brain Control on Hermitree
  • Attacks
  • In Main Phase 2, tributes Hermitree to summon The End of Anubis

From this point:

  • Graveyard effects are shut off
  • Plant recursion is disabled

B sets a monster.

A continues:

  • Summons Breaker the Magical Warrior
  • Targets a set card
  • B chains Enemy Controller, tributing the set monster to take Anubis

At End Phase:

  • Anubis returns to A

Next turn:

  • A tributes Breaker for Zaborg the Thunder Monarch
  • Zaborg destroys the set Lonefire Blossom

Battle Phase:

  • Zaborg and Anubis attack directly

B concedes with no way to recover through Anubis


Round 3 — Plant vs Earth Deck





Duel 1 — Long grind into exact lethal

B opens:

  • D.D. Warrior attacks A’s set Botanical Girl, banishing it

A summons another Botanical Girl.

B summons Kycoo, attacks:

  • Botanical Girl is destroyed
  • Effect brings Lord Poison

A’s turn:

  • Activates Pot of Greed
  • Uses Brain Control on Kycoo
  • Attacks
  • Tributes Kycoo to summon King Truesdale

B answers:

  • Summons another Kycoo
  • Activates Shrink on Truesdale
  • Kycoo destroys it and banishes Botanical Girl from grave

Midgame continues with trades:

  • Smashing Ground
  • King Tiger Wanghu
  • Lightning Vortex clearing the board

A rebuilds with Lekunga and pressure begins to mount.

The duel is decided when A draws Heavy Storm:

  • Activates it, clearing all backrow
  • Follows with Nobleman of Crossout to remove the last set monster

With the field open:

  • A summons Lekunga
  • Activates its effect to generate a token

Battle Phase:

  • Lekunga attacks over Breaker
  • The token and Botanical Girl attack directly

Exact lethal damage for the win


Duel 2 — Double Morphing Jar chaos

B opens:

  • Giant Rat
  • Summons Kycoo
  • Uses Smashing Ground

Then:

  • Summons King Tiger Wanghu
  • Attacks a set monster → Morphing Jar #2

All monsters return to deck and are re-deployed face-down:

  • Don Zaloog
  • Injection Fairy Lily
  • Tiger Wanghu

A summons Abyss Soldier, attacks:

  • B chains Book of Moon

Next turn:

  • B flips monsters:
    • Don Zaloog
    • Injection Fairy Lily (pays 2000 to boost)
    • D.D. Warrior Lady

Multiple attacks:

  • Abyss Soldier is removed
  • Hand is disrupted by Zaloog

Another Morphing Jar #2 resolves later:

  • More monsters flood the field face-down

Final turn:

  • B flips Wildheart
  • Uses Exiled Force
  • Attacks directly

A cannot recover and loses


Duel 3 — Chain interaction decides everything

A opens defensively.
B summons Don Zaloog and activates Nobleman of Crossout.

A chains My Body as a Shield:

  • Nobleman is negated and destroyed

Next turn:

  • A activates Giant Trunade, returning all backrow
  • Summons Abyss Soldier
  • Discards Lekunga to special summon The Tricky
  • Flip summons Cipher Soldier

Battle Phase:

  • Cipher Soldier attacks Don Zaloog with ATK boost
  • The Tricky and Abyss Soldier attack directly

➡️ B drops to 2250 LP

Midgame develops:

  • Creature Swap with Momonga
  • Multiple trades with Giant Rat, Exiled Force, D.D. Assailant

A later summons:

  • Lonefire Blossom
  • Brings Sylvan Hermitree
  • Hermitree is removed by D.D. Warrior Lady

🔗 Critical chain moment

A activates Call of the Haunted, targeting Cipher Soldier.
B chains Royal Decree.

A responds:

  • Chains Raigeki Break, discarding Brain Control, targeting Decree

Resolution:

  • Decree is destroyed before it applies
  • Call resolves successfully
  • Cipher Soldier is summoned

🏁 Endgame

The duel slows into a defensive standoff.

A draws Heavy Storm:

  • Activates it
  • B does not chain

A attempts:

  • Return from the Different Dimension
  • B chains Royal Decree, negating it

All backrow is destroyed.

Battle Phase:

  • Cipher Soldier attacks directly

B’s last set card is revealed to be Heavy Storm, but it cannot be used.

➡️ Cipher Soldier deals final damage and wins


Round 4 — Chaos vs Chaos Recruit

Round 4 was not included in this report due to extreme risk of reader boredom 😴


Round 5 - Zombies vs Chaos Recruit

Zombies won but it was not recorded

Closing Thoughts

This tournament shows clearly:

  • Games are decided by exact sequencing, not general advantage
  • Heavy Storm, Trunade, and Brain Control create instant win turns
  • Chain timing (Decree, MST, Raigeki Break) is deciding multiple duels
