๐Ÿ“บ Yahiko vs ShadowEfra

A classic Chaos control vs Spellcaster matchup with multiple momentum shifts.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 1

ShadowEfra opened with strong setup using Thunder Dragon into Pot of Greed, immediately gaining card advantage. He followed with Dekoichi, keeping the value engine going.

Yahiko tried to stabilize with Old Vindictive Magician and backrow, but Mystical Space Typhoon removed Torrential Tribute, clearing the way.

The key swing:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Zaborg the Thunder Monarch destroys Vindictive and pushes 2400 damage.

Yahiko answers well:

  • Tribe-Infecting Virus clears Zaborg
  • Sets up Magician’s Circle

But ShadowEfra transitions:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Metamorphosis → Thousand-Eyes Restrict, absorbing Tribe and locking the board.

From there:

  • Magician’s Circle brings Dark Magician Girl, but trades poorly
  • Yahiko attempts Magical Dimension, but Raigeki Break snipes it mid-resolution

After that, ShadowEfra controls the pace and closes.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 2

This one starts CHAOTIC.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Card Destruction Turn 1 resets both hands completely.

Both players get explosive graveyard setups.

Yahiko comes out swinging:

  • Skilled Dark Magician
  • Magician’s Circle → Injection Fairy Lily
  • Big damage push using Lily (LP payment)

ShadowEfra is behind early, but stabilizes:

  • Uses Card Destruction again to reset tempo
  • Sets up LIGHT/DARK for Chaos

Critical turning point:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Chaos Sorcerer removes Lily
๐Ÿ‘‰ Followed by Return from the Different Dimension

This summons:

  • Zaborg
  • Jinzo

This swing is massive:

  • Clears Yahiko’s board
  • Turns off traps

But Yahiko recovered and takes Duel 2.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 3

Much slower, more careful.

ShadowEfra opens with:

  • Tsukuyomi
  • Defensive traps

Yahiko tries early aggression with:

  • Breaker, but gets hit by Ring of Destruction

Momentum shifts when:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Jinzo hits the field from ShadowEfra

This is huge:

  • Yahiko loses trap interaction
  • Forced into monster-based answers

Yahiko fights back:

  • Uses Copycat to trade with Jinzo
  • Clears backrow with MST
  • Builds field with Gravekeeper’s Spy

Mid-game becomes grindy:

  • Spy engine vs ShadowEfra’s incremental value
  • Multiple small trades

But Yahiko finally stabilizes:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Tribe-Infecting Virus + Spy pressure

ShadowEfra runs out of strong responses, and Yahiko pushes through the remaining damage.

๐Ÿ“บ Carlos Dรกvila vs Pollo

Zombies vs Fire / Phoenix Engine

A very dynamic matchup between Zombie recursion and Pyro-based pressure.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 1

A slow and tactical start.

Charly opens with Pyramid Turtle, immediately threatening access to his Zombie engine. Pollo responds conservatively, setting up backrow and normal summoning Flame Ruler, signaling a Phoenix strategy.

The first big exchange:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Charly brings out Ryu Kokki after Turtle trades
๐Ÿ‘‰ Pollo answers with Raigeki Break, discarding to remove it

The duel stabilizes briefly, but then Pollo commits:

  • Foolish Burial → Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys
  • Premature Burial brings it back early

However, this is where the duel flips:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Needle Ceiling wipes the entire field
(Phoenix included before it can snowball)

Charly capitalizes instantly:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Book of Life

  • Revives Ryu Kokki
  • Banishes Sacred Phoenix

This is massive — Phoenix is gone for good.

From here:

  • Charly applies steady pressure with Ryu Kokki
  • Uses Creature Swap interactions to maintain advantage
  • Controls tempo through repeated trades

Pollo tries to recover with Spirit of Flames plays, but without Phoenix recursion, his deck loses momentum.

Charly closes the duel through consistent pressure.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 2

Much faster and more aggressive.

Pollo starts strong:

  • Bonfire → Spirit of Flames
  • Establishes early board with Pyro monsters

Charly responds cleanly:
๐Ÿ‘‰ D.D. Warrior Lady trades early monsters
๐Ÿ‘‰ Followed by Brain Control + Berserk Gorilla

This creates a huge tempo swing:

  • Double attacks land directly
  • Massive LP gap opens

Pollo fights back with a strong play:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Hand of Nephthys → Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys

And follows up with:

  • Spirit of Flames
  • Immediate pressure

Now the duel flips again.

But Charly answers perfectly:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Tribe-Infecting Virus

  • Calls Winged Beast → clears Phoenix
  • Calls Pyro → clears Spirit of Flames

A complete board wipe.

From there Pollo recovers via Phoenix recursion…

๐Ÿ”น Duel 3

The most back-and-forth duel of the match.

Charly starts with:

  • Pyramid Turtle
  • Backrow setup

Pollo mirrors with:

  • Foolish Burial → Phoenix setup
  • Defensive traps including Needle Ceiling

Early turning point:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Breaker the Magical Warrior gets punished by Ring of Destruction

Then:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Torrential Tribute clears the board after a Last Will attempt

But this triggers a huge sequence:

  • Book of Life revives Turtle
  • Call of the Haunted revives Phoenix

Now both engines are live.

Combat phase chaos:

  • Turtle crashes → brings Ryu Kokki
  • Ryu Kokki trades with Phoenix

Mid-game becomes a grind:

  • Pollo applies pressure with Blazing Inpachi
  • Charly stabilizes with Injection Fairy Lily + Book of Life

Key moment:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Lily pushes huge damage (LP payment burst)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Ryu Kokki removes threats cleanly

Pollo attempts one last push with Spirit of Flames, but:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Mirror Force shuts it down completely

From there, Charly regains full control and finishes the duel with Ryu Kokki pressure.

๐Ÿ“บ Tonatiuh vs Josรฉ Dolores

Control/Chaos vs Toolbox Aggro

A highly technical duel full of classic NeoGoat interactions.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 1

Tonatiuh opens with Thunder Dragon setup + Des Lacooda, aiming for slow advantage.

Jose immediately pressures with:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Giant Rat, crashing into Lacooda and taking tempo early

Then comes heavy backrow interaction:

  • Dust Tornado snipes Ring of Destruction
  • Jose builds a strong trap setup (Bottomless, Mirror Force)

Tonatiuh finds a window:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Ceasefire + Heavy Storm

  • Clears all backrow
  • Opens the board

Followed by:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Breaker the Magical Warrior regaining control

But the duel resets completely:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Morphing Jar

Both players reload, and from here Jose takes over:

  • Mystic Swordsman LV2 deletes set monsters (huge vs Lacooda)
  • Constant pressure with Giant Rat, then later
  • Gigantes + Injection Fairy Lily push big damage

Tonatiuh tries to stabilize with Manju → Relinquished setup, but keeps losing backrow to Dust Tornado

๐Ÿ‘‰ Jose overwhelms with pressure and takes Duel 1.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 2

Tonatiuh opens strong:

  • Thunder Dragon setup
  • Manju → Black Illusion Ritual

Jose responds explosively:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Giant Rat → Injection Fairy Lily

  • Massive early damage (3400 swing)

Tonatiuh stabilizes:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Relinquished absorbs Lily
๐Ÿ‘‰ Followed by Metamorphosis → Thousand-Eyes Restrict

Now the duel flips completely:

  • Board is locked
  • Jose loses momentum

Jose tries to break through:

  • Tribe-Infecting Virus clears Relinquished
  • Premature Burial → Lily again

But Tonatiuh answers perfectly:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Heavy Storm wipes everything

Then:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Thousand-Eyes Restrict again + Royal Decree

This is the lock:

  • No traps
  • No board presence

Finally:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Chaos Sorcerer hits the field and removes remaining threats

Tonatiuh takes Duel 2 cleanly.

๐Ÿ“บ Kztoor vs รngel Hernรกndez

Dark Magician Hybrid vs Spellcaster Control

One of the most creative matches of the round.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 1

Kztoor starts with his key engine:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Elemental HERO Prisma sending Dark Magician
๐Ÿ‘‰ Followed by The Eye of Timaeus → Amulet Dragon

Early pressure is established, but the duel immediately swings:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Creature Swap from รngel

  • Takes control of Amulet Dragon
  • Forces Kztoor into a losing position

From there, รngel converts advantage:

  • Uses removal and combat efficiently
  • Keeps Kztoor off balance

The duel transitions into Spellcaster control, and eventually:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight hits the field

With sustained pressure and better board control, รngel closes.

✔️ รngel takes Duel 1.

๐Ÿ”น Duel 2

This duel is less explosive and more about tempo control.

Early game:

  • Both players trade resources
  • No immediate blowout like Duel 1

Kztoor again tries to establish pressure through:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Prisma plays and fusion setup

But this time รngel plays more carefully:

  • Controls the pace with removal
  • Avoids overcommitting into swings like Creature Swap

The duel becomes a grind:

  • Repeated trades
  • Small advantages stacking

Eventually รngel pulls ahead through:

  • Cleaner trades
  • Better board presence over time

Kztoor cannot re-establish a strong fusion push.

✔️ รngel takes Duel 2.

This mini tournament has already proven several things — and we’ve only seen Round 1:
  • The new banlist encourages creativity
  • Classic engines (Chaos, Zombies, Monarchs) are still strong
  • Hybrid and experimental builds are more viable than ever

๐Ÿ‘‰ This is just the beginning —
the rest of the tournament, including later rounds and final results, will be featured soon.
