This NeoGoat tournament featured 15 players and a wide variety of strategies, but one storyline stood above the rest: an Earth deck that reached Table 1 in Round 1 and never moved, defeating four completely different opponents across the entire event.
Below is the full round-by-round recap.
Next came a dangerous Burn deck full of damage traps, Des Koala, Secret Barrel, Nightmare Wheel, and lockdown tools like Level Limit – Area B. The Earth player spent several turns navigating board restrictions.
In Round 3, the Earth deck faced a defensive Gravekeeper strategy centered around Spy, recursion, and classic control traps. He also uses Gilasaurus and monarchs, since Necrovalley avoid the negative effect of Gilasaurus. The Earth deck found key removal at the right moments and Gravekeepers began to run out of resources.
The final round featured an inventive Gadget deck running two unusual but effective tech cards:
-
Horn of the Unicorn to pump Gadgets beyond expected combat stats
-
Horn of Heaven to negate important summons at crucial times
This created a very grindy match where both players traded removal and small advantages constantly. The Gadgets’ natural card advantage engine kept things close, and the Horn tech caught the Earth player off guard more than once.
However, in the long game, the Earth deck’s larger monsters and efficient spot removal pushed through the Gadget wall, eventually breaking open the duel and securing the win.
Unfortunately, in the video of the last round, the Earth player placed his cards very close to himself, which makes his set Spell/Trap cards difficult to see on camera. The duel is still understandable, but the visibility issue is noticeable.
Earth completes a perfect 4-0 run and finishes the 15-player event undefeated at Table 1.
This 15-player NeoGoat event showed how far solid fundamentals and reliable monster pressure can go.
The Earth deck navigated four completely different matchups—Zombies → Burn → Gravekeeper’s → Gadgets—and defeated each one with consistent, disciplined play.
