Tournament Report September 25th, 2025

 Another night, another unforgettable NeoGOAT showdown—this time with 20 duelists stepping into the ring to prove their skills across four intense rounds. Despite the strong showing from HERO and Spellcaster players, the top cut told a different story. Zombie decks once again overran the bracket, showing just how oppressive their recursion and pressure can be when piloted by skilled duelists.

With Zombies repeatedly topping recent events, discussions within the NeoGOAT format committee are heating up. Many players are calling for a banlist adjustment to curb Zombie dominance, possibly targeting:

• Pyramid Turtle consistency
• Book of Life recursion loops
• Creature Swap

The decision was hit the Pyramid Turtle for now, but the next banlist update may bring some cold winds for the undead.

First Round there was a little discussion about the interaction of Mirage of Nightmare and Deck Devastation Virus, they also forgot to destroy a Des Lacooda on field after the virus resolved. The second duel the winner countered all the other player's plays.

Due to time constraints (this tournament was held at night) and how grindy late-stage matches can become, Round 5 was omitted—a decision commonly made to keep the event from running into the early hours of the morning. With four Swiss rounds completed, final standings were locked, and prizing distributed accordingly.

Last-Minute NeoGoat October 2025 Banlist Change: Pyramid Turtle Semi-Limited!

 In a surprising  update just days before the release of the new NeoGoat banlist, Pyramid Turtle has been added to the Semi-Limited List, reducing its legal copies from 3 to 2. After publishing the banlist days ago many players noted that zombies were not hit, and zombie deck were winning many local tournaments recently.

Why Pyramid Turtle?

Reducing Pyramid Turtle to 2 copies forces Zombie pilots to play more thoughtfully and reduces the likelihood of early Turtle setups that give them overwhelming board presence before opponents can establish control.

Zombie decks have tech cards like Creature Swap that acts as pseudo-removal, they give the turtle and make aggresive plays that end the duels quick. Maybe Creature Swap is the real problem, but with this change only Zombies are nerfed.

By semi-limiting this card, these interactions are still playable — but no longer abusable. Zombies are not being nerfed into the ground. A limit would have been too harsh; semi-limiting this card is an experimental change. With the banlists we encourage creative deckbuilding — exactly what NeoGoat is all about.

Tournament Report September 23th, 2005

 This week’s NeoGoat tournament featured a wide mix of decks, with Warrior Aggro taking 1st place!

A notable match featured a Blue-Eyes Chaos Ritual deck using Advanced Ritual Art, showcasing a unique build that caught a lot of attention. Though it didn’t win the event, it achieved second place, the deck made a strong showing and impressed players with its consistency and power.

Deck diversity was strong across the board — players brought everything from Chaos variants to rogue brews, showing off the format’s flexibility.

Tournament Report - NeoGoat à la carte! (Part 2) Gameplay videos

 The NeoGoat Format keeps evolving, and our community-driven events are where the creativity truly shines. The À La Carte event gave duelists the chance to put their deckbuilding skills to the test in a unique way: instead of sticking to a single archetype or strict core, players could “pick and choose” their favorite engines, tech cards, and combos—building  from the card pool. This allowed competitors to mix cards rarely seen in traditional Goat, finding synergies only possible in NeoGoat.

Tournament Report - NeoGoat à la carte! (Part 1)

 The latest NeoGoatFormat À la Carte Special Tournament was one for the books, this special event had an unique event rule:

🍔 All the players had to include Hamburger Recipe in their Main deck, and Hungry Burger in their Extra deck. Hungry Burger could be ritual summoned directly from the Extra Deck, and whenever it was summoned, its controller gained 1000 LP.

This quirky addition turned Hungry Burger into the unofficial mascot of the event. Some duelists even built around it, while others just enjoyed the surprise factor whenever it hit the field.

The room was buzzing with good vibes — hamburgers, pizza, and drinks flowed as duelists battled to restaurant background music. Everyone walked away with booster packs, adding to the festive, locals-style atmosphere.

Closing Thoughts

The Hungry Burger rule gave the tournament its flavor — duelists were cheering every time the Extra Deck Burger hit the table, no matter who summoned it. Combined with a mix of Fusion decks, nostalgia builds, PACMAN tricks, and steady meta staples, plus food, drinks, and booster packs for all, the À la Carte Special was exactly what NeoGoat is about: competition, community, and creativity.

Tournament Report September 12th, 2005

 We have a new report 

This week’s 18-player NeoGoatFormat event gave us a result nobody saw coming. While most of the room brought carefully tuned 40 card decks, the trophy went home with a duelist who piloted a 60-card Earth pile featuring Unexpected Dai, Insect Knight, and even Cyber-Stein, everyone thought it was a meme until it kept winning.

The Champion’s Build: Earth Goes Wide

• Unexpected Dai gave immediate access to Insect Knight, or Soul Tiger Earth monsters later on using them to summon Gigantes o The Rock Spirit. 

• Cyber-Stein provided explosive “cheat-win” potential, stealing games by dropping Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon out of nowhere, there were Last Wills to summon it.

• Classic Goat tools (Scapegoat, Metamorphosis, Magician of Faith) ensured it could still play the long grind game.

Special Rule:

• Each player must include Hungry Burger in their Extra Deck (no more than one copy) and the Hamburger Recipe Ritual Spell in their Main Deck. Hamburger Recipe can be activated to ritual summon Hungry Burger from the Extra Deck; monsters in the hand or field with a Level of 6 or more must be Tributed (as stated on the card).

• Each time a player Summons Hungry Burger, they will recover 1000 Life Points.

Themed Prize:

• Each round, the winning player chooses "a dish" from the round menu (a specific expansion pack) to open.

• Players who don't win the round also receive a pack, but it's limited to the Entrada menu.

• Food will be included with event admission (choice of hamburger or pizza) and a soft drink. Snacks (guacamole and tortilla chips) will also be available.

 This tournament was won with a player that used an aggro zombie deck with Call of the Mummy.

This deck is something more explosive. With Call of the Mummy it can flood the board with beaters, pressure with floaters like Pyramid Turtle, and use recursion to outgrind slower decks.

This tournament we had many Retro Pack 2 and Mega Packs 2025 in prizes.
