A compact but spicy event this time: 14 players, a great mix of classic engines and some unexpected tech choices. Even with a smaller turnout, the level of play (and creativity) stayed high — and once again, Plants made a serious statement.
Round 1 — Monarch vs Shinato Ritual
An unusual opener for the tournament.
The Shinato Ritual deck came in swinging with a very different pace compared to the usual NeoGoat control shells. While Monarchs tried to establish advantage through tribute pressure, Shinato managed to bypass traditional interaction and push damage in big chunks.
Ritual deck takes it — rare, but effective.
Round 2 — Plant vs Monarch
A different Monarch build showed up here — more tuned for tempo and board control.
Plants attempted to stabilize with their usual floaters and setup plays, but the Monarch player kept clearing key monsters and maintaining pressure, not allowing the Plant engine to snowball.
Monarchs take this one with solid control.
⚔️ Round 3 — Warrior vs Plant Chaos
This was one of the most interesting matches of the day.
The Warrior deck brought some spicy tech:
- A. Forces to boost swarm damage
- D.D. Designator to disrupt key combo pieces
- Classic aggressive Warrior pressure
At one point, Warrior established a strong board with multiple bodies boosted by A. Forces, threatening lethal out of nowhere.
But Plant Chaos did what it does best stabilized the field.
Once the duel slowed down, Plant Chaos took over and closed it out.
Final Round — Plant Chaos vs Chaos
A very “NeoGoat” ending: grind vs grind.
Both decks traded resources heavily, but Plant Chaos had the edge in consistency and recursion. The ability to keep generating value over multiple turns proved decisive.
Plant Chaos wins the tournament
Takeaways
- Plant Chaos is becoming a real force.
- Monarch variants are still very competitive, especially when built for tempo
- Rogue strategies like Shinato Ritual can absolutely steal matches
- Warrior aggro remains dangerous, especially with tech like A. Forces
