As part of this month’s Back to the Beginning celebration, we will be holding the NeoGoat online tournament, this time fully themed around the original NeoGoat format from May 2024.
This event serves as an online preview of the main special tournament, allowing more players to participate and experience the format even if they are unable to attend the in-store event.
Purpose of the Event
The goal of this online tournament is not to replace the main event, but to expand participation and create space for experimentation.
By revisiting the original May 2024 banlist and card pool, this tournament allows players to:

Re-experience NeoGoat in its earliest form

Test ideas and decks under the original constraints

Observe interactions that later versions of the format adjusted or removed

Generate discussion and insights for the upcoming physical event
This is a preview and testing ground, not a permanent rollback.

Looking Ahead
This tournament is meant to generate ideas, data, and conversation ahead of the main Back to the Beginning event, which will take place on Sunday, January 25.
The physical tournament will remain unchanged.
This online event simply helps contextualize it by putting the original format back into motion.
A recap with observations and results will be shared after the tournament.
