NeoGoat Tournament Report — December 9th, 2025

Our latest NeoGoat event gathered 17 duelists ready to test new tech, revisit old engines, and push the format forward. The structure was 4 Swiss rounds, and although everything started smoothly, the final round came with an unexpected situation that affected the video coverage.

The Best Duel of the Day (Not Recorded)

Machine Deck vs. Burn

In this duel:

  • The Machine player unleashed an explosive offensive, dealing over 10,000 damage total, pushing the Burn player all the way down to 100 LP. The other player had used Nimble Momongas and had extra LP.

  • Then, in an insane comeback moment, the Burn player summoned a third Lava Golem to the opponent’s field.

    • The Machine player already had two Lava Golems sitting there burning him every standby phase.

  • Now with three Lava Golems on his side of the field, the Machine player went into his next turn at 3000 LP and the burn damage finally overwhelmed him.

It was explosive, dramatic, hilarious, and tactically fascinating—a perfect NeoGoat duel.

Round 1

Round 2: Burn vs Skill Drain Deck πŸ†

Round 3: Dark Shell πŸ† vs Chaos

Round 4: It turned to be a looong duel, and video was stopped

Match: Summoner Monk πŸ† vs. Dark Shell

The duel itself proceeded normally, but the Dark player’s extremely slow decision-making caused the video to become excessively long and unwatchable, it was being transmitted live on our YouTube channel. There were long pauses every turn, even for simple plays.

Because of this:

  • The recording was stopped, the battery was going to run out.

  • The match continued and finished normally

  • The results remain valid, Summoner Monk Deck won.

  • Only the video is missing

This incident led to an important discussion for future events.

Future Improvements: Time Rules Under Consideration

To prevent similar issues—both in tournament pacing and recorded content—we are now considering:

  • Official 40-minute round timers

  • Slow play warnings

  • Standard end-of-round overtime procedure

  • Possible game losses for repeated stalling

More details will be announced before the next tournament.

Final Thoughts

Even with the Round 4 recording issue, the tournament was full of highlights:

✔ 17 players
✔ 4 rounds completed
✔ Strong deck diversity
✔ A legendary Machine vs. Burn duel (RIP missing footage)
✔ Valuable insights for future time management rules

NeoGoat continues evolving—not only in gameplay and deckbuilding, but also in how we run tournaments and produce content.
