NeoGoat Tournament Report — December 2nd, 2025

This 14 player tournament featured a variety of strategies, from classic control to explosive tempo decks and a unique Ritual-based contender in the finals. Each round showcased a different angle of the NeoGoat metagame, making this tournament one of the most diverse in recent weeks.

Round 1 – Good Stuff vs Gravekeepers πŸ†

The tournament began with a classic matchup: traditional Good Stuff facing a sturdy Gravekeepers deck. Necrovalley created immediate pressure by shutting down several Good Stuff interactions, but the deck’s flexibility kept the duel competitive for a while. In the end, the consistent resource engine of the Gravekeepers—Spy, Guard, and efficient field control—secured them the first win.

Round 2 – Good Stuff (Volcanic Shell) vs Warrior πŸ†

In Round 2, the Good Stuff variant running Volcanic Shell took the stage. However, the Warrior deck struck back and claimed the round.

The last video of the tournament contains both Round 3 and Round 4 (the Final) together in the same recording, making it easier to follow the progression into the championship match.

Round 3 – Warrior vs Gravekeepers πŸ†
and Round 4 – Relinquished ShadowπŸ† vs Gravekeepers

Round 3 reunited familiar faces: the Warrior deck from Round 2 challenged the same Gravekeepers deck from Round 1.

The Round 4 (final) brought a unique showdown: Gravekeepers versus the technical and unconventional Relinquished Shadow ritual-control deck.

Relinquished Shadow is a deck built around Rituals, tactical control, and a surprisingly strong advantage engine that keeps it stable in long games. Its core revolves around Relinquished, supported by a full lineup of searchers that guarantee frequent Ritual Summons. With Metamorphosis, the deck can also pivot into Thousand-Eyes Restrict, enabling full board lockdown.

Utility cards like Copycat provide flexibility by copying ATK, functioning as Ritual material, and serving as fodder for Metamorphosis. Meanwhile, the internal draw engine of Good Goblin Housekeeping + Emergency Provisions keeps the deck flowing:

  • Good Goblin cycles the hand and sends unneeded cards or Normal Monsters (for Advanced Ritual Art) back into the Deck.

  • Emergency Provisions lets you send the Housekeepings to the GY before they resolve, increasing your draws.

  • Provisions can also remove the monster equipped to Relinquished, letting you steal a fresh one.

One of the deck’s most unusual choices is Shadow Spell, used not for long-term suppression but to keep opponent monsters alive, weaken them, and leave them perfectly positioned for Relinquished to steal or for Copycat to copy.

When opponents rely heavily on Trap negation—Jinzo, Royal Decree, Wildheart —Shadow Spell becomes less reliable, so the Side Deck includes Enemy Controller, performing the same tactical role but from the safer Spell zone.

The rest of the deck is reinforced with traditional control tools such as Tsukuyomi and Chaos Sorcerer. Cards like Lava Golem help break enemy boards and can then be stolen with Relinquished. Magical Exemplar provides an efficient way to revive Relinquished directly from the GY.

The final match unfolded as a battle of structure versus adaptability—Gravekeepers attempting to maintain control under Necrovalley while Relinquished Shadow maneuvered around the board with precise tactical plays. Thanks to its ability to manipulate fields, steal monsters, and recycle resources, Relinquished Shadow showcased its full power and delivered a standout performance in the tournament finale.
